It’s The Little Things

I have one of those tables that is only meant for covering with fabric.  You know what I mean, sturdy and ugly underneath in need of ornamental covering.  Several years ago I made (yes with my own hands and sewing machine) an ornamental covering for her –  with ticking – I have always loved ticking, any color will do for me, but for her I chose yellow and added a deep crimson trim.  And, she really looked pretty good for quite a long time.  I am sure lots of hands had given her a brush as they ran by, or learned to “pull up” with a little help from her.  After all, daughter took her first steps here only a month after we moved in.

So this summer, a local fabric store owned by a friend and frequented by me, went out of business.  I perused and plucked several pieces, some for specific projects and others to put in a drawer for yet undreamed of projects.  For my table, I found the perfect one…

table, table skirt, accessories

it looks like embroidery…

and I love the trim…

and I love the collected items resting there…

She is one of the first things I see when I come in through the back door.  I smile…I think she is happy with her face lift…

Happy Monday!

I enjoyed this entry. Nice job! I really like the little flower pot that looks like leaves. I am taking pottery classes lately and so notice such things…

Oh yes, that was a gift and was created by a local craftsman – I love it too! So nice to hear from you and want to see what you create!
