A Tour Of Locustland: Rebecca Vizard’s Home, Garden and Atelier

Anticipating Rebecca Vizard’s visit to my antique club led me to make the trek from Jackson to Lake Bruin, Louisiana over the Labor Day holiday. She is the creative genius behind B.Viz Design and her story is so compelling.  I began the tale in the post Gifted and Giving. (click the link to read if you missed it!)

Today I will give you a spin around her home, garden and studio, all of which reflect her natural ability to preserve and create.

The Studio is connected to the main house by a loggia where you are sure to see stacks of pillow forms, textiles and designs ready to be picked up by seamstresses for finishing into final works of art…

Entering her studio and workspace is like taking a trip around the world.  There is hand-printed fabric from the legendary Mariano Fortuny workshop in Venice, Italy, decorative tribal textiles from central Asia, as well as tapestry and needlepoint from around the world.  Stacks of finery awaiting design…

Oh, My! How beautiful…. Spent two years pining because I allowed the most beautiful “O” pillow to go un purchased because of the price. I dreamt about that pillow…. Then last May on holiday I wandered into Gerrie Bremermann’s on Magazine and fell in love all over again. There was not an “O” pillow-for my beloved deceased husband, but I purchased 3 lovely pillows I adore and enjoy every day. Page

Her creations are fabulous! I think that she would look for an O for you if you made contact with her – she is just lovely. Love Gerrie B’s!
