The Eudora Welty Garden Celebration Countdown

I can hardly believe that the Eudora Welty Garden Celebration commemorating the 10th anniversary of the garden opening is only a week away!  The event has been almost a year in the planning and it is finally here!

The Cereus Weeders will be sporting our new aprons…

We will also offer some aprons for sale at the event, along with camellias which have been propagated from Miss Welty’s own plants and some night blooming cereus plants!

Last week’s gathering in the garden gave us all added excitement over the event as the entire garden is just brimming with beauty.

So get ready, here come a bunch of photos, I just want to show you everything…

  1. Such beauty is truly a blessing from the Lord. And the work you are all doing in this wonderful garden is obviously a labor of love and brings glory to God. Thanks again, Marsha, for sharing it with the world beyond Jackson!

I am so happy to bring a little of Eudora Welty to the world!

Marsha, I’m looking forward to the event next week. Everything looks beautiful; it’s proof of your “cereus” work in the garden! I’m looking forward to buying some of Miss Welty’s propogated camellias and the cereus night bloomers. I will transplant them in Oxford. Mr. Faulkner’s irises will be returning to Oxford along with Miss Welty’s camellias; yes, I dug up the irises 15 years ago and brought them to Jackson with me. Now, it’s time for all of us to go back home!

I a m so glad that you will be able to attend the party! It is wonderful that you will have some of Miss Welty’s plants to grow alongside Mr. Faulkner’s and if you need to divide any of those irises when you dig them up, well, you know where to find me! haha

  4. I have a few snowdrops in my Belhaven yard… maybe they blew over from Ms. Welty’s garden!

I have a few that I rescued out of the compost pile at Miss Welty’s. They are not very well established yet but I keep hoping!
