Garden Club of Jackson Spring Tour Preview Party

The Garden Club of Jackson’s Spring Tour opened Wednesday evening with a preview party at the home of Laura and Mart Lamar and let me tell you it was fabulous!  The tour continues today so you still have a chance to see some great gardens and homes.

A friend of mine in Jackson sent this to me up here in Port Townsend, WA where I live now. This is the first time I’ve seen my parents former home since Laura and Mart moved in. I love the swimming pool and pool house additions and how “fresh” they made the house look. I knew they had wonderful plans to bring the house into the 21st century. And the gardens and flowers are beautiful. From looking at these photos, it looks like they painted over or removed the Zuber et Fils wall paper in the entrance hall and hallway. It was a very rare antique. What a pity. Oh well. I know you’ll have good sucess with the Garden Tours.

Thanks for reading Sally and I am happy that it gave you the opportunity to see what has been going on in your childhood home! Yes, I think the wallpaper is gone – sure wish I could have seen it!
