A Bridal Luncheon

Well dear readers, for those of you in the know about recent goings on OPP,  I hope you enjoy a recap of the bridal luncheon held here last Friday.

Any of you who know me are aware of my love for paper, ribbons, wrappings and trimmings.  I love the way an invitation sets the tone for a party and I knew all along how I wanted this one to feel.  Several months ago while shopping in New Orleans with the MOB I ran across the perfect card for this party.

Cake plate by Anna Griffin was just the thing and so they were purchased and stashed away until a few weeks ago…

for several days I hunted and gathered and the dining table became central command for inventory…

my friend Kandy Sims did the beautiful calligraphy place cards…

I don’t really remember when I decided that if I could make an owl come alive with flowers surely I could do the same with a wedding gown.  One day while walking around a local flea market I came across a small wire dress form and the idea began to take shape.  I did a trial run a week prior to the event and had so much fun seeing my idea come to fruition…

Over the past few months ideas have been swirling around in my head and I had so much fun with flowers, china, silver, linens, food and drink and believe it or not my wedding veil!

I attached the veil to three boxwood wreaths for a front door welcome…

I think it announced the theme for the day in a sweet and sentimental way…

and it was fun to see the veil after all these years…

the weather here was not cooperating last week and heavy rain threats moved this party out of the garden and into the house…
