Mushroom Mania

I saw two clumps of the cutest mushrooms this morning while I was out walking the flower girls.  Cammie and Maggie were hot and tired and so I thought I would take them home for water and stop back by for a quick photo on my way to or from the grocery.  Well the minute I turned the corner and saw the man on the enormous mowing machine my heart sank.   You guessed it – he had mown down all the mushrooms.

 Lesson for the day:

seize the opportunity

Well anyway, it set me thinking about mushrooms which have always been a little favorite of mine.  I have some concrete mushrooms scattered about the garden OPP

these are small and have metal stakes, which makes it easy to stabilize them in flower beds, and when it rains they fill up with water which the dogs quickly lap up…

look what I spotted on a shopping expedition last week (more about that in another post)…

  1. Had to laugh. Had the same experience a while back. Amazing mushrooms…no camera. Went back next day with camera. And mowers had just gone by. (Sigh.)

Ha! Why could they not just mow around the mushrooms? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
