Enjoying The Imminent End of the Summer Garden

As Labor Day comes and goes I know that the end of the summer garden is indeed imminent.

This year a sad event – the death of a close friend’s husband – gave me the opportunity to not only enjoy the end of my summer garden but to share it with her.  I was happy to oblige when called upon to provide a flower arrangement for the guest table.

We’ll take a spin around the waning summer garden…

cypress vine, morning glory and hyacinth bean vine have made a jungle on the trellises…

I couldn’t believe I found this lone little hydrangea giving it one last shot…

I had a little fun with a new photo editing application and put together a short slideshow.  Unfortunately you cannot use the full screen mode as it turns the pictures blurry – more work to be done there – but you may enjoy “Little French Songs”…

After I had cut all the blooms I could find, it was on to fun with flower arranging…

How is it with your garden?

Is it looking as tired as mine?…
