This and That from Rosemary Beach

I am at lovely Rosemary Beach, Florida for a wedding this weekend.  Here’s a little background for those of you who don’t know the full story!  A few lot of years ago a group of friends broke ground and build a vacation house in Seaside, Florida.  It was a place for relaxation, a family place, a place for friends, a place now in our memories.

On the day we moved in, of course we took the obligatory photo!  Subsequently our dear friend the late, great Miriam Weems immortalized it for us in a work of art…

Now, here is the reason for my wedding weekend at Rosemary Beach – the first of this brood to wed!

Oh, and here is a great revelation – the painting has been kept lovingly since the vacation home was sold and will now be bequeathed to this young man as a wedding gift.  There is a little more to the story – we lost his father after a courageous battle with cancer a few years ago – and so here we are, gathered to celebrate a great new beginning and to remember fondly times past.

Today was a great day to be at Rosemary Beach…

  1. Marsha, I’m housebound with a broken foot and have really looked forward to your posts! My days are kind of long right now. 🙂 I can’t wait to read more about Rosemary beach and the wedding. I can make out your family in Miriam’s painting, but not the others. Today I will pray for this groom who lost his dad and his bride. Blessings, Karan

Oh so sorry about your foot – hoping that you will be up and about sooner rather than later! Yes, it is a special day and also a little melancholy remembering father of the groom. We are having a wonderful time celebrating together!
