A Season For Giving

During this season of gift giving, daughter and I have a long tradition of selecting an ornament from the “angel tree” at our church.  The Salvation Army screens and submits names of children in our community who, for whatever reason, need a little assistance during this season for giving.  Daughter, babysitter that she is, always likes to select a baby and hit the stores to find just the right things.  This year it was not working out for her to be home for the shopping in time for the turn-in date this Sunday, so I fueled up the sleigh and headed “up north” for our annual shopping expedition!

We enlisted the help of a friend and thank goodness we did!  Watching these two assemble a stroller was worth the trip in itself…

let’s just say there was a bit of trial and error…

they were victorious in the end though and all of our wheels turned in the right directions…

In my experience, the times I am “giving” are the times when I really “get” the most.  This day was no exception.  Lunch, shopping and laughing with these two – priceless!

Oxford, Mississippi is such a pretty town and it dresses up for every occasion.  I made a couple of stops on my way out of town to capture a couple of pretty homes…

this home is right across the street from our little “shack” and I never tire of the view…

and around the corner, what a pretty display…

I hope that you are getting as much as I am from this season of giving…
