About That Botanical Arts Thing: The Final Chapter

I have finally made it through the final chapter of that botanical arts thing that has been consuming much of my time!

On Tuesday morning I headed north to the Zone IX meeting of the Garden Club of America with my creation resting in the passenger seat right beside me!

Upon arrival I found my way to the Botanical Arts section of the GCA Flower Show “Memphis in Bloom” where a team of “passing judges” were prepared to peruse each entry.  I ran into one small bump in the road as it became clear that the ivory pedestal that was promised for display was nowhere to be found.  In it’s place a black cloth covered table with an acrylic box…

there was a bit of anxiety over how these embellished forks would be displayed…

but it all worked out in the end…

After receiving a “pass” from the judges I was politely invited to vacate the premises until the show opened the following day!

I was so interested to see how the other four entrants had interpreted the Project Green Fork theme.

I was thrilled to receive the Garden Club of America Novice Award in Botanical Arts!
