Supper Club

We hosted our supper club on Friday night and I had a great time putting together a menu and setting the tables…

Supper Club

my mother decided that she was ready to give up these blue glass plates and so I inherited them…

Supper Club

you know how I am about books in the dining room…

Supper Club

the enormous magnolia tree in my garden is full of blooms and so I decided they would be perfect for centerpieces…

Supper Club

My tree is limbed up pretty high and I was climbing a ladder and reaching for blooms when I decided to take a stroll up Pinehurst Place with my clippers!  Several neighbors have trees with branches to the ground and I figured they would want to share in my preparations.  I got lucky and headed home with an armful of pretty blooms when I heard a neighbor asking if I needed any more!  See, I told you they would want to share!  I told him I thought I had enough to make it and went my merry way.  Imagine my surprise when a couple of hours later I heard a voice calling across the garden gate.  He had six blooms in his hands for me!  Yippee!

Supper Club

believe me, the whole house smelled divine…

Supper Club

I was so caught up having fun with friends that I completely forgot to get a photo of the actual supper!

I hope your weekend was full of fun with friends too…

I thought they made nice arrangements so will definitely do this again!

  4. You have inspired me! I actually have three small magnolias in my new yard but they are FULL of blooms. I am hosting a bridal luncheon in two weeks and I think they may be perfect! I too love the blue plates and the little bird napkin rings. So nice!

You won’t be sorry that you used the magnolias because your house will smell heavenly! If you have any of the great metal “frogs” they helped with getting the blooms to stand up where I wanted them! Good luck with your luncheon.
