Raised Beds

In keeping with yesterday’s theme of reworking in my garden, today I am thinking about raised beds.  I love them in the garden because they make planting and weeding so much easier but there is also the added visual impact they can make.

how pretty is this…

I love the look of natural stone and have used a bit of it here but only as edging, not as a raised bed.

it is so appealing…

Here’s the deal – the house OPP is constructed of poured concrete and the wall surrounding the back yard is painted cinder block. Right now I am still in the walking around looking and then coming back inside to pore through my garden books stage.  I think I need to keep with the existing architecture though and so am envisioning something with cinder blocks.

sort of like this only painted either to match the house or green to disappear…
