A Movie Review

I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Far From The Madding Crowd and so daughter and I set out happily this afternoon to the movie theater…

I just knew that I would return home to gush on and on about how much I loved everything about it.

Not so much.

Well, maybe that is too harsh.  Once I survived the horrific happenings that set up the storyline I was able to enjoy the costume design, set design and beautiful countryside…

The independent heroine is determined to make her own way in life and an opportune inheritance makes it possible.  She has her choice of suitors all along the way…

I’ll leave it to you to guess which one I was rooting for.  Here is the thing, by the time she finally gets around to the right one I was worn out!  Happily worn out!

It is a lot of hard work running a farm…

Trust me, there are many trials and tribulations along the way and I was relieved with the ending.

My favorite character?

Old George…

I’m overall recommending seeing the film, especially if you are a lover of all things Jane Austen!

Oh my, I hate to give a bad impression. Here is the thing, as I was walking out I ran into a friend and the first thing she said was “I am worn out” well I felt the same. The movie itself is beautiful just a bit long and a bit tedious. If you see it let me know what you think!

We must have been there at the same time but didn’t see each other. I was worn out too but like you, enjoyed the scenery & costumes. My favorite part was just looking at Gabriel!!

Hate that we missed seeing each other but I am glad that I was not the only one who felt this way!
