Much Ado About A Brush

Back in the 1860s, Mason Pearson, and Engineer and Inventor, was working in London at the British Steam Brush Works.  He later began small-brush making – by hand!  His engineering prowess led him to inventing a machine which sped up the process and he actually won a Silver Medal for this at the International Inventions Exhibition!

Sage Salon and Color Bar’s instagram feed featured the Mason Pearson brush last week and I had to check it out…

the brushes are offered in different combinations of boar bristle and nylon bristle…

This family run business is still making the same basic product that has been in production since the 1920s…

The brush has a rubber cushion pad that “is kind to use and gently massages the scalp.”  It goes so smoothly through my hair that I am convinced all of those princesses brushing their hair 100 strokes each night must have been using Mason Pearson’s product!

The only downside I can find is the instruction that the brush is not to be used for Fido…

Have a great day!
