Paul’s Pastry

Wednesday found me on the road with a carload of friends, sadly heading to the funeral of a friend’s father.  Ok, two funerals this week will quite enough for me thank you!  This family had a sweet tribute to their daddy and we all agreed that we were so glad that we went.

There being a silver lining to every cloud, we decided to take a little detour and make a stop at Paul’s Pastry in Picayune, MS, where the Mardi Gras season is in full swing…

Paul’s Pastry Shop is known as “the biggest little bakery in South Mississippi” and is home of the original cream cheese King Cake.  Don’t worry if you can’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Paul’s will send you a “Party in a Box” or a King Cake in any one of forty flavors.  They bake fresh daily and in keeping with tradition, each cake holds a symbolic baby.

Visit their website and let Mardi Gras come to you!

Cannot thank you enough for this week…wish I had told you that Sherri Paul and I grew up together. We were roommates our freshman year at State! We went to Pauls when it was a small bakery in downtown Picayune.

I love Paul’s. When I was working, I ordered their cream cheese King Cakes. The best! Thanks for reminding me about Paul’s. I feel an order coming on. The magnolia cupcakes look spectacular . . . and cakes, too. MMMMMM

  3. Those magnolia cupcakes are amazing. What a great place…also love the repurposed Christmas tree…who knew, a Mardi Gras Tree.
