A Concert in Holy Week

I want to recommend to you a concert this week,  Wednesday at noon, at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in downtown Jackson…

Our choir has been working on the most beautiful music for months and this promises to be a noteworthy event.  It is sure to add much meaning to your week as you prepare for Easter!

A few weeks ago we learned of the impending retirement of our beloved choirmaster, Dr. John Paul.  While we all recognize that he has more than earned a well deserved respite, it is still a bitter pill to swallow!  Having served St. Andrew’s for 51 years, it is difficult to imagine the music program sans John.  And so, this will be our final Easter celebration under his guidance, making it even more special.

Wonderful Marsha! I’m so glad you captured that beautiful window and the organ where John Paul has played so magnificently for the past half a century! On Wednesday we will “come before His presence with a song” – bring a kleenex . . .

  2. I am so sad to miss this wonderful opportunity to hear John Paul’s last concert with the St. Andrews choir. I hate for Jackson to lose this living legend! John Paul is definitely a rock star!

  3. What a wonderful ministry John Paul has had. Traditional church music is fading away and I absolutely adore it. Easter is such a beautiful time and I’m glad your church is celebrating it with this musical offering for the community.
