Auricula Theatres

Well, one look at that and I was quickly searching for more information!

Apparently auricula theatres were a must have for folks in the eighteenth century when the plants were status symbols…

An existing theatre from the period is still in use at Calke Abbey…

Other suggestions for plants to display in your theatre are fritillaries, narcissi, polyanthus or dwarf irises.
